Research Associate, Gene Editing Analytical Development
Bristol-Myers Squibb is developing clinical-stage, novel cellular immunotherapies based on two distinct and complementary platforms – Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs) and T Cell Receptors (TCRs) technologies. Our goal is to revolutionize medicine by re-engaging the body’s immune system to treat cancer.The Gene Editing Molecular Analytics group is seeking an enthusiastic Research Associate to act on the development of analytical methods in support of engineered T-cell programs. The ideal candidate has a suitable skill set and knowledge in molecular biology and analytical assay development and is excited to take on new challenges in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Design and execute experiments as needed such as nucleic acid isolation and purification, next generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation and QC.
Illumina MiSeq operation and maintenance.
Collaborate with others to handle day to day operation of the laboratory to ensure smooth operation.
Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebook and documentation.
Basic Qualifications
B.S. in Molecular Biology or other related biological science disciplines with 2 years of post-graduation experience in molecular biology-related studies.
Skillful with routine molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid isolation, PCR, qPCR, primer/probe design) and cell culture.
Experience with NGS library preparation, quantitation and quality determination.
Ability to carefully follow existing methods and SOPs
Ability to maintain meticulous record and documentation.
Strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
1 years of industry experience in assay development or related fields.
Working knowledge of electronic laboratory notebook software and DNA analysis software.
Experience with droplet digital PCR (ddPCR).
Strong time management skills with the capacity to prioritize work from multiple projects to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to write reports & SOP.
