PREREQUISITES :
Advanced degree (MD, PharmD and/or PhD) in molecular biology, genomics, cancer
biology or other relevant life sciences. Solid experience in medical affairs, clinical, and/or translational research in hematology or oncology with 7 -10 years in academic medicine and/or industry.
Experience in leading cross functional teams.
Summary/Scope:
The Associate Director/Director, WW Medical Affairs Hematology Myeloid will provide scientific/medical leadership and support for a product in launch within a therapeutic area. This individual will be responsible for planning and executing the Global Medical Affairs Plan and Integrated Evidence Plan to guide the non-registrational data generation for a specific asset. He/she will lead the medical matrix team being the primary point of contact for medical stakeholders in the Bristol-Myers Squibb affiliates worldwide. He/she will serve as the disease/asset expert, take a leadership role for the execution of company sponsored global medical affairs trials and early access programs. He/she will be the medical affairs representative for the assigned products internally in the DT and WWBT, and externally with international TL.
The individual will report to the Senior Director WW Medical Affairs Myeloid, will have people management responsibilities and be headquarters based in the Summit NJ campus.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1.Leadership responsibilities:
Represent Global Medical Affairs in cross functional teams/meetings, e.g. WWBT, DT
Work closely with global counterparts in different functions (marketing, market access, clinical development, sci comm etc)
Align the global medical matrix team on strategy and tactics
Develop and execute medical strategy for assigned product
Provide recommendations to guide decisions on Investigator Sponsored Trials (ISRs)
Work closely with other medical leads in the myeloid team to make sure processes are consistent
2.Deliverable responsibilities:
Develop and execute on the Global Medical Plan and Launch Plan
Develop and update together with the cross functional team the integrated evidence plan
Partner with Scientific Communications/Publications colleagues to develop publication strategy, gap analysis, key messages in coordination with the cross functional team and the medical matrix team
High quality scientific/clinical input and review of (as needed):
Abstracts, posters, manuscripts
Educational materials
IIT proposals and protocols
Scientific educational grant requests
Patient advocacy grant requests in collaboration with the Advocacy team, serving as matter of expert.
Drive the planning and execution of Global Medical Affairs Sponsored Trials and early access programs
Track priority Medical Affairs tactics and performance to goals/budget

The ideal candidate will have the following mix of professional and personal characteristics:
Advanced degree (MD, PharmD and/or PhD) in life science
Solid experience in medical affairs, clinical and/o translational research in hematology or oncology with 7 -10 years in academic medicine and/or industry.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to remain calm and positive under pressure
Excellent communication skills, including presentations to large groups, facilitation of interactive discussions, and 1:1 with TLs.
Matrix leadership of cross-functional teams.
Excellent analytical skills and solid experience in translating medical/clinical information into medical affairs strategies.
Demonstrated customer focus orientation & credibility
Hard working with a can-do attitude
Strong leadership skills
Possess experience creating and managing budgets
Regular travel will be required (approx 20-25%)
