The purpose of this position is to drive the Requisition-to-Order (R2O) related processes from end-to-end enterprise-wide. The Global R2O Process includes the following Ordering sub-processes: Requisitioning, Process Requests, Route & Approve Requests, Issue Orders and Manage Orders, as well as Enable and Maintain online Catalogs. Key BMS buying channel technologies include: Ariba, SAP, Maximo, Veeva, SciQuest, and Eclipse.

A key aspect of this role for the next 24 months will be to drive integration and alignment of policy and processes, including but not limited to, decisions on migration of data and data attributes mapping for R2O for our new company.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Plan and drive integration efforts in partnership with broader team, IT, and other stakeholders with focus on simplified process and improved user experience

Implement and execute SP&C Strategy (in support of the Buying Channel Strategy Lead as also, the Global Process Owner) for end-to-end R2O Process, Platforms, Policies and Performance Analytics

Manage relationship with key stakeholders to enable development and execution of new solutions and improvements for R2O

Deploy agreed SS&P strategy by managing multiple concurrent projects

Monitor and Analyze Process Performance and Re-design to deliver innovation and corrective actions

Maintain current documentation of ‘As-Is’ Process Maps, Development Roadmaps and translation of these into clear Operational Work Instructions.

Develop a culture of continuous improvement and proactively propose enhancement opportunities for R2O process. Partner with Operations teams to support related efforts.

Lead and manage new catalog needs and enhancements

Solicit feedback from internal users/customers, accountably driving a strong customer experience and proactively determining best response to continually improve process performance and year-over-year cost reductions

Change Management execution, including communicating changes to business users and developing training for Operations as also, end users

Knowledge and Skills required:

Advanced knowledge of Requisitioning Processes, Platforms (i.e., Ariba and SAP), buying channels, Policies and Best Practices, with strong knowledge of adjacent upstream and downstream processes and demonstrated ability to collaborate to identify and deliver integration and efficiencies

Plan and oversee User Acceptance Testing for new projects or improvements and participate as necessary

Thorough understanding of Internal Business Controls as they related to Source-to-Pay processes.

Demonstrated understanding of key integration points and hand-offs to/from Requisition-to-Order (R2O) processes from/to:

Supplier Enablement

Sourcing and Contracting

Invoice to Pay processes

Procurement Operations and buying tool suite(e.g., Buy@BMS)

Knowledge of BMS SS&P Organization/Roles and key leaders

Knowledge of systems like, Maximo, Rio, Veeva and integration with Purchasing platform

Familiar with MRP ordering process

Demonstrated ability to successfully:

prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects while also managing expectations of key stakeholders

Develop insights and recommendations then translate into clear and actionable proposals

Demonstrated experience leading Change through process re-engineering and valuation/implementation of best practices and leading technologies

Strong leadership, communications, project management, analytical, organization and presentation skills

Demonstrated Customer Service mindset and successful ability to lead through influence rather than authority

Solution-oriented thinker, with demonstrated ability to assess and promptly take corrective actions

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in business-related area)

Minimum of 6-8 years of business experience

Minimum of 5 years of multi-disciplined procurement experience including R2O

Minimum of 1 year Pharmaceutical Procurement experience

Strong experience across in-scope process areas

Business process management (BPM) experience

Expertise in Strategy to Pay technologies and automation (e.g. SAP, Ariba, Maximo)

Experience in reporting metrics and KPI development

Experience with both direct and indirect materials

Proven track record of leading projects with matrix teams

Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

M.S./M.B.A.

Professional certifications (e.g. CPM, CPIM).

3 years Pharmaceutical Procurement experience

Membership in Professional Associations, e.g. ISM
