We believe that the diverse experiences and perspectives of all our employees help to drive innovation and transformative business results.
The SPL will lead a cross-functional matrix team known as the Global Operations Team (GO-Team) for a biologic or pharmaceutical product, or multiple products, to develop and maintain a multi-year supply strategy; prioritize and resource key investments across the end to end biologics or pharmaceutical supply chain; assure key project execution; and drive year on year attainment of brand operating metrics.
The scope of the product supply strategy that the SPL will oversee and manage will include but not be limited to product sourcing, network capacity, supply assurance, major market launches, product line extensions, physical product enhancements, process and method technical changes, robustness/quality and productivity projects, and business continuity planning.
The SPL will partner with the Commercial Worldwide Brand Team (WWBT) and the Development Team (DT) leaders to ensure that we are collectively aligned to execute on the top priorities at an enterprise level. In this context, the SPL will ensure that value, constraints, costs, and risks are clear and appropriately factored into decision making and aligned enterprise level product lifecycle planning.
Additionally, the SPL will lead the GO-Team to serve as a network level escalation team, to manage issues and risks escalated from sites and functions that require network level responses and communications. The SPL will be accountable to drive decisions in an efficient and effective way through appropriate governance channels, and represent the brand performance, agenda, and priorities with senior level stakeholders across Global Product Development & Supply (GPS) and BMS.
As GO-Team leader, the SPL will be responsible for setting horizontal objectives for team members, coaching and managing, and partnering with functional line leaders in people management processes including performance management and development plans.
The SPL will be a standing member or an ad hoc member of the new governance structures. The SPL will co-chair Brand S&OP (or equivalent) in partnership with commercial leadership.
The GO-Team, under SPL leadership, collectively carries the following responsibilities:
Maintains an integrated multi-year roadmap across the end to end value chain, prioritizing key projects and investments encompassing physical product enhancements, process and method technical changes, sourcing and scale up, launches, robustness/quality and productivity projects.
Develops global inventory strategies including identification of opportunities and action plans to optimize end-to-end inventory. Maintains end to end product supply plans that address fragmentation complexities and maintains market supply continuity.
Ensures CMC change plans are developed and coordinated across sites, functions, and markets.
Identifies prioritizes, roadmaps, and captures year on year continuous improvement opportunities – robustness, yield, cycle time – in alignment with sites, functions and project portfolio management processes.
Ensures priority projects are aligned and resourced across key functions and sites and ensures completion and value delivery.
Manages risks and issues that escalate above single site or function level.
Oversees supply risk assessments and mitigation planning deliverables, including Annual Business Continuity Plans.
Secures product supply strategy endorsements, including relevant product sourcing decisions, and technical agenda endorsements at appropriate governance forums, which reflect priorities and sequencing of changes.
Maintains effective communications to key stakeholders, including formal Annual Product Reviews with Sr. Leadership to provide an update on the product strategy and progress towards its realization.
Ensures successful global product launches through close coordination within GPS Launch Teams and Site-to-Market Teams.
Provides input, documents and maintains long range physical and financial flows, strategic and operational inventory targets, and long range capacity and capital plans to meet global supply requirements.
