The Immunology & Fibrosis Therapeutic Portfolio Leader is responsible for managing the lifecycle of the portfolio (approximately 3 billion in revenue). The leader will work with individual brand Strategic Product Leaders and Lifecycle Leaders to develop, own, and drive the integrated product supply and lifecycle strategies for the portfolio, managing the complex interdependencies, to ensure supply continuity, mitigate risks, and optimize brand values. The portfolio leader will serve as the primary contact for the portfolio within GPS and on behalf of GPS with Commercial and Development Senior Leaders. This role will lead a team of professionals, including the individual brand Strategic Product Leaders who lead matrix teams and the lifecycle management strategies and the Lifecycle Leaders who support the strategies. The role should ensure seamless communication to the SPLs/matrix teams and GPS leadership to allow GPS to be ready to support future portfolio business needs.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Product Strategy lead/ subject matter expert for the portfolio.
Develop GPS vision for the future portfolio, including an integrated technical, quality, regulatory, and supply chain roadmap.
Partner with the Worldwide Brand Team and the development team(s) to develop enterprise strategies for the portfolio, including but not limited to SKU Optimization (management, rationalization, etc.), portfolio market footprint, and new dosage forms and delivery options. Serve as GPS point to Commercial and Development Team(s) to ensure GPS alignment on key portfolio information such as significant indications, key clinical milestones, and filing/approval dates.
Collaborate with Commercial, BI&A, and Demand Planning to understand clinical and commercial demands for the portfolio, including underlying assumptions, brand interdependencies, risk/opportunities, and upside/ downside triggers to ensure GPS is in a position to supply. Communicate this information within GPS.
Define network and manufacturing capabilities investment choices and timelines, driving the decision-making process to allow GPS sufficient time to prepare.
Oversee and advance effectiveness of brand matrix teams to ensure development and execution of brand strategies, effective prioritization of initiatives, appropriate risk management including development and execution of robust business continuity plans, successful launch of new and lifecycle assets, appropriate inventory targets, optimal physical and financial supply chains, and effective coordination of CMC changes with an effort to reduce fragmentation.
Keep abreast of external applicable news and innovations. Benchmark GPS strategies and performance against those of our competitors.
Serve as the iPS rep for new business development opportunities, including participating in due diligence and contracting activities. Serve as alliance manager for any portfolio-related partnerships.
Lead and develop staff to achieve professional growth and attain established goals and a robust succession plan.
B.S/ B.A. in science or engineering. Masters or advanced degree preferred.
Strong knowledge biologics and pharma.
15 years experience in Operations or Supply Chain Management leadership. Brand matrix leader experience preferred.
Strong financial acumen.
Experience with senior level interactions and influence.
Strategic thinking to analyze ambiguous situations and develop a vision/ direction.
Ability to influence and work in matrix environment.
Strong leadership capability to make and act on decisions while balancing speed, quality and risk.
