Description
The Associate VP, Clinical Pharmacy monitors drug development pipeline, and medical literature, while providing clinical support and strategy to ensure positive patient experience. Utilizes broad understanding of managed care and PBM knowledge to develop, and/or implement strategies and programs to mitigate cost trend and improve health outcomes. The Associate VP, Clinical Pharmacy requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide while obtaining a focus on the overall patient experience and external factors.
Responsibilities
The Associate VP, Clinical Pharmacy develops, maintains, and/or operationalizes current and new Clinical Process' and provides insight on the patients overall experience. Conducts analysis on all Specialty Pharmacy Trends, and Collaborates on research projects and develops proposals for current process within Humana Specialty Pharmacy. Develops corporate communications to be shared with senior leadership. Supports trend management by conducting analysis of drug spend, utilization, and/or approval scenarios. Subject Matter Expert to provide key information around all clinical components. Strategizes new initiatives to continue to grow department, and brings an advanced clinical background.
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree in Healthcare and/or Medicine or PharmD
8 or more years of broad leadership experience
10 or more years working in Clinical Affairs
Strong understanding of Pharmacy
Experience in studying/working with Provider and Patient Experience
Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting financial trends
Able to give direction and make sound business experience
Ability to oversee health center operations and patient experience functions to ensure effective stewardship of the organization's resources in delivering quality care and service to patients
Deep understanding of the Overall Patient Experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Access
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Strong background in Data Review
Advanced Presentation Skills and Corporate Communication
Experience working across different departments to ensure consistency
Leads functional areas and departments in review of all current and proposed projects for prioritization discussions with leadership.
Schedules meetings, compiles meeting minutes, tracks follow up actions, prepares project management documentation, and develops reports and dashboards for milestones and report outs to customers.
Experience in Pharmacy Analytics
Enters and analyzes data in various ways to determine trends and identify root causes
Ability to remain agile to perform other job-related duties required by leader
