In this role, you will be responsible for the US planning activities of the Hematology Medical Affairs Department, including US brand and medical planning, budget planning, congress planning, workforce planning, and planning and execution of special projects. You will partner with colleagues in Medical Affairs or in other functions to lead or support Strategic Planning responsibilities.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:


Responsible for coordinating the various Medical Affairs functions involved in the US brand, launch and medical affairs plans to develop and communicate effectively the Medical view in the US medical and marketingplanningprocess.
Working with US Disease Teams to establish and/or review on a regular basis the Integrated Evidence Plans (IEPs) for each disease area for life cycle management in collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders
Working with Medical Affairs IT to evaluate hardware and software packages for Global and US Medical Affairs, evaluating the budget impact, compatibility with existing systems, resource needs for implementation.
Establishing departmental workforce plans across US Medical Affairs departments
In collaboration with Finance, establish budgets for US Medical Affairs (includes IIT budgets). Work within Medical Affairs and Finance to forecast IIT cost recognition and develop risk-adjustment model to allow better forecasting of committed spending.
Work closely with HR in the areas of recruitment, workforceplanning, contingent workforce resourceplanning, successionplanning, organizational structure, and other HR-related matters.
Work closely with Head of US Medical Affairs, Hematology to attract the best talent for open positions
Track against workforce plans and budget performance against plans monthly
Develop with Medical Affairs Excellence dashboards for deliverables and communicate appropriately on a regular basis
Collaborate with Scientific Communications, Franchise Teams and Disease teams to ensure asset teams complete publication plans for all disease areas, and to update them regularly
Work with Scientific Communications to track abstracts and publications against the plans
Work with other key stakeholders in regions to identify best practices of all Medical Affairs Functions, evaluate skills, competencies and capabilities in the groups, and identify areas that can be improved
Responsible for special projects that require Medical Leadership and involve cross-functional teams.
Lead the development & implementation of a solid infrastructure to support Medical Affairs functions globally
Active member of the US Medical Affairs Hematology Leadership Team


Required Skills/Knowledge:


BS/BA required
7 years of experience in industry required
Must demonstrate ability to lead strategically, drive performance, build alignment, inform, negotiate and collaborate.
Effective communication skills - written, oral, and interpersonal; experience in delivering complex messages to various internal and external customers with a track record of effective and influential presentations.
Proven track record in matrix functions exerting influence to achieve results rather than counting on organizational authority
Demonstrates initiative, creativity,strategiccapabilities, and ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environments
Proven team player with ability to navigate cross functionally
Core competencies in hematology and oncology, and familiarity with trial designs, statistics, and standard management of oncologic and malignant hematologic diseases
Demonstrated experience in developing & implementing state of the art medicalplanningprocesses in a multi-national environment.
Proven ability to acquire & manage multiple therapeutic area expertise - Oncology/hematology medical knowledge/experience preferred. International experience highly desirable.
Proven track record of effective people management including coaching, motivating and developmentplanningin a multicultural environment.


Preferred Skills/Knowledge:


Advanced scientific degree preferred
Experience in Clinical Research & Development or Medical Affairs in Hematology or Oncology field preferred.
Experience in designing and tracking Key Performance Indicators preferred
