(RA) position is available within McLean Hospital's Treatment & Etiology of Depression in Youth Laboratory (
****, directed by Christian Webb, PhD
(Associate Professor, Harvard Medical School) .
The lab is part of the Center for Depression, Anxiety and Stress Research, which is devoted to the study of depression, anxiety, and related conditions (http://cdasr.mclean.harvard.edu). The TEDY Lab is currently investigating the causes and treatment of depression, using EEG, fMRI, behavioral and self-report assessments (including smartphone-delivered ecological momentary assessment). As a member of our scientific team, you will work closely with Dr. Webb, fellow research assistants and a postdoctoral fellow. You will gain hands-on experience with recruiting and screening both healthy and depressed teens and adults, as well as conducting experimental procedures with them. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Provides assistance on research studies as per study guidelines and protocols.
Recruits and evaluates potential study patients. Per protocol guidelines, conducts telephone interviews to determine study eligibility and schedules participants for study visits.
Responsible for collecting questionnaire, behavioral, and neuroimaging data from participants.
Develops, organizes, and/or maintains the study database. Responsible for data validation and quality control, as well as preliminary statistical analyses.
Answers any phone call and inquiries regarding study protocol. Refers participants when appropriate to supervisor or clinical staff.
Assists with literature searches, preparation of reports for Institutional Review Board and compliance with regulatory agencies.
Assists with monitoring the laboratory budget, including ordering equipment.
Maintains inventory and orders supplies when necessary.
Assists Dr. Webb with scheduling.
Assists with preparation of abstracts, posters, and manuscripts generated by the primary study or other studies conducted in the laboratory. The student may be offered the opportunity to present any work conducted in the laboratory at a local, national, or international conference at his or her discretion.
Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned.
